Training project born from an idea of Davide Romeo, founder of the company Uscite di Emergenza, an emerging contemporary dance company based in Rome (Italy).

PREMISE:
The HIGH TRAINING project stems from the strong desire to connect young dancers with their own potential by offering the space and opportunities to grow, deepen, discover and discover themselves, experiment. 
The basis of a dancer's identity starts with self-awareness, full mastery of his or her potential and the willingness to put oneself at stake in experimentation. 
Proposing an advanced training course here in Rome that delves into the complexities of the body and movement on the basis of exchange and research seemed to us necessary for the panorama, reconciling it with the strong desire to open ourselves as a company to the knowledge of new young dancers, sharing our work and our vision and being ready to be contaminated by new energies.
Formazione Continua (Continuous Training) is the term chosen to emphasise the constant research of each one in his or her mutation in the face of every stimulus and every opportunity offered.

 

MISSION:

The project is aimed at young dancers and young professionals who want to continue to progress in their professional career.

 Each candidate will have the opportunity to deepen the awareness of his or her own body, enhance its characteristics by taking care of it through an "open" study and give light to a connection between body and creativity through the various didactic and workshop opportunities offered. Great space is to be given to the study of creation, seeking to structure a language and personal poetics that add to the training not only in practice but also in theory. A path that aims at the training of the individual in a context of continuous exchange and great symbiosis within the group. In view of the work panorama, sharing and cohesion with the group, which will work synergistically and with the ideal of collaboration, becomes fundamental. In the Final Work, the aim is to present all the various facets of choreographic and choreographic work, emphasising the group that will work under the direction of professional choreographers, the individual in his capacity as dancer and choreographer, and the small collective realities that will be created. Directed by the choreographer Davide Romeo and in collaboration with the company Uscite di Emergenza, which will support the course, the training will also take place through guests of national and international stature, integrating research among the innumerable languages of dance.

They serve to look inside oneself and recognise oneself now in one, now in the other.- What I would like is to convey to very young dancers this complexity that everyone carries inside, in its entire beauty, without having to lose oneself in it. ORGANIZATION:

- The training will have a schedule of 1 or 2 weekends per month of intensive work, for 7 hours a day, also accessible to those not based in Rome.

- There will be 3 INTERNATIONAL professional guest choreographers who will speak during these weekends to enhance the training work and additional online distance learning meetings and multimedia teaching material.

 

- Additional meetings for small groups and individuals will be organised beyond the scheduled weekends for specific and in-depth work.

 

- A Sharing will be organised at the end of each weekend. Within the "Collection Points" event, co-managed by the students themselves, the candidates will have the opportunity to perform and/or watch and comment on guest creations. At the same time, the aim is to develop practical-technical skills in the field to deal with the creation of a work and the management of an event in all its facets (elaboration of synopsis and material of the creation, light design, coordination of technique, planning of performances in the evening, etc.).

- At the end of the first trimester you will complete a film work with a video maker to deepen your knowledge of video dance and enrich your artistic language.

- At the end of the training, a performance will be created that will make its theatre debut and include the choreographic work carried out during the training and the choreographic work of the individual participants.

 

- The collaboration with the Corpo Mobile festival will ensure that two of our students will participate in the international competition with one of their creations as young choreographers involving the other students.

 

- Numerous effective collaborations with professional, training organisations and festivals will be activated.

- It will also be possible to be included in the work of the company Uscite di Emergenza at the choreographer's discretion.

- 2 places for an internship in the company are available at the end of the year

 

Admission Procedure

Access to the course is by audition only.
10 places available, until all spots are filled.
The panel reserves the right to admit up to 5 additional candidates in cases of outstanding artistic merit.

The Artistic Director and the company also reserve the right to directly invite candidates to join the course.

For the 2025–26 edition of our Professional Training Course, there are two modes of access:

1) IN-PERSON AUDITION

The in-person audition will include:

• Welcome and registration

• Warm-up and class with the Artistic Director and the company

• Private performance in front of the panel (a solo max 2.5 minutes)

• One-to-one private interview with the panel after the performance

Audition results will be communicated within 5 working days.

What to prepare for the in-person audition:

• A solo showcasing your dance and choreographic skills (max duration: 2.5 minutes)

• Your music on a USB stick, single MP3 track

• A photocopy of your ID, a printed CV, and the signed declaration form (available for download on the website below the application form)

AUDITION DATES: 2 and 13 September 2025, from 10:00 to 13:00
The exact audition location will be communicated upon confirmation.

2) ONLINE AUDITION (new for 2025)

You may also apply via online audition, by completing the application form available at the link at the bottom of the page.

The form must include:

• A video link (YouTube, Drive, etc.) of a solo presenting your dance and choreographic abilities – minimum 2.5 minutes

• Your updated CV

⚠️ The deadline for submitting the online application is 14 September 2025 at 20:00 (8:00 PM).

All submitted applications will be reviewed by a panel.
If the initial review is successful, shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 10 days to schedule an online interview, which will determine the final audition outcome.
